I am working my way through all the New Who, mostly so I can read the fanfic with all the necessary background. :) I have just finished watching the Christopher Eccleston episodes all through for the first time (I had seen odds and ends before, but not all through). I've still got all the really tricky stuff to come, I am guessing, though it all got a bit wild in that last episode, what with looking into the heart of the TARDIS and all!

Awesome!! Another new Whovian!! :D

I started New Who in the fall, and just this week finished to the latest ep (mid S7). I found a lot of the storylines of season 1 to be a bit iffy (ie the farting aliens, lol) but I fell in love so hard with Christopher Eccleston's Doctor and Rose, it didn't matter much (weird as it was, I loved the Time Vortex thing!). :D I've really enjoyed all of the new series tho, and would hard pressed to pick an absolute fav season, but S2 with Ten/David Tennant and Rose is definitely very high up there. Oh man, enjoy!! AND KEEP KLEENEXES NEARBY - THIS SHOW LIKES TO CRUSH YOUR SOUL *OFTEN*.

Something that's interesting is seeing the cultural references all about -- for example "Everybody lives! Nobody dies!" which has turned, courtesy of rthstewart, into an AU Narnia fandom. The trickiest part is avoiding spoilers! (for which reason, I haven't read most of your first post yet!) I didn't at all like the way Ten/David Tennant sabotaged a political career, and don't think I like his general smart-alec persona much. :(

Oh golly, ya - don't read my post in detail, any of them, so you can stay spoiler free!! I know when I decide I want to start a new fandom, I try to stay away from it as much as possible to avoid the spoilers. There was some stuff all through DW that absolutely blew my mind, and I'm so glad I stayed unspoiled, lol. I'm starting Torchwood now, and doing the same thing - staying away from fics and anything related until I finish the series.

I have to admit I have literally seen no interviews or anything else with David Tennant outside of DW (and him as Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter, 'course), so I didn't have that for me. But I completely understand - there are some actors out there who I just dislike as people and can't get past it when I watch them in stuff.

I'm pressing on, and have just finished the school episode, with, I think, Anthony Hopkins as the Headmaster, who was totally brilliant! The script, not so much - why did it have to have the two women focussing for pretty well the entire episode on their "rivalry" for male attentions. Pah humbug!

Hmm, I don't think it was Anthony Hopkins? Either that or I don't remember that episode well enough, haha. Was that the one where Rose was the lunch lady?

Replying to two at once: :D No, I didn't know David Tennant before this, but so far I don't like his style (not his fault; it's the scriptwriters). And you're absolutely right that it wasn't Anthony Hopkins, it was Anthony Head. :)

I'm now just finished the one with very little Who in it, about the Absorbamorph (?) - I am down on the scriptwriters for that, too, for having such a lovely group of people come to such a miserable end. (lovely, but oddly deaf for a music-loving crowd. You'd think after the first scream they'd've all run back to see what had become of Bridget. Hmmm. Do I take some thinhgs too seriously? ;) )

Nah, you don't take it too seriously. ;) Well, I maybe shouldn't talk, because I get WAY into my shows/books/movies, lol. In fact my family judges me constantly because I get hugely emotionally invested in shows and characters, and my mom will call to talk to me and I pick up trying to hide the fact that I was just sobbing, and she'll be like, "What's wrong!?" and I'm like, "Um... just watching... some serious TV... *ahem* And how are you?" LOL.
