The bosses finally gave in. Despite the tight budget, we are finally sending a delegate to this conference. Guess who's going? Although I am truly going for all the right reasons, I won't deny it -- this is a good excuse to have a grand weekend in Vegas with my sisters. Lovely birthday gift for me self, I should say.

After I finished watching Goodbye, Lenin! the word that came into my head was bittersweet. It was such an enjoyable watch with just enough touching moments towards the end that pulled on my heartstrings a bit. I won't be doing much this weekend. I'm flying solo on acount that my sister and room mate is out of town. So I'll just be at home, maybe rent some DVDs, sell some items on eBay, hook up the karaoke downstairs and just lounge. There's a football game on tonight but I have no inclination to watch. ...Cause I am pooped and I'm blue. Only half the week has gone by and already I am yearning for the quiet comfort the weekend brings. My soul is someplace else though my body is in the office, hunched over piles of paperwork, slaving away in the monotonous hum of the daily grind.

Vacation's over and I'm work bound. The week has been so relaxing and exciting, most of the days highlighted by Keith Urban performances (in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada) and a whole lot of sleeping in. I'm on vacation. What could be better than being on vacation while the whole city of Redwood City - where I work - is a buzz by the delay in the Scott Petterson case? Glad I don't have to tippy-toe around the media folks who have taken over our city.
