[Athos is at the stables because he wants a horse. Not just any horse, but one he can appropriately bond with and take care of, because he's got to do something around here or he'll drink himself to death. Upon entering the little building, he pauses-

Waits.

Listens.

Someone is there.

That someone is kneeling in the corner, praying. Athos himself isn't a staunch practitioner of religion, but he does believe in God.]

[Poland pauses, crossing himself in a sort of... apology for leaving off so abruptly. Latin is language of the Church, and always has been to him; knowing it is a mark of someone properly educated, at the very least, if not properly churched as well. And with so few of like mind around, that's enough to get him to open up a bit.]
