I have nearly chopped the end of my left thumb off.  Twice.  While chopping onion.

And three days after the first time, I ripped open the pad of my left thumb with a splinter that was more like a matchstick.

Conclusion: my left thumb gets in the way.  A lot.

Second thoughts...

But those don't last long...

Where are my guts?

Never have I been so torn between two groups of friends...

A) New Year's Resolution: floss teeth on a somewhat regular basis.

2) My hard drive failed last week. That was unfortunate. But the computer guys in Rock Falls rock my world.

III) Is it weird if I think I'm allergic to alcohol? (Unfortunate since I turn 21 in three weeks)

My parents and I just spent the last hour looking for something. Something very important. Usually I would say that material possessions are of no consequence. Life goes on. There's nothing like playing euchre with mi familia.

Best quote of the evening: 
Mother: "If I say 'pick it up,' who gets it?" 
Everyone else: "The dealer!!"

This exchange happened about four times in a row. MInd you, my father taught her how to play probably ten years ago.

So. I'm finally back in el Estados Unidos after three months in Latin America.

The trip was fantastic: I surfed in the Pacific, snorkeled in the Atlantic, hiked the Inca Trail, explored the rainforest, and wrote a six-page paper...among other things. I even picked up a little Spanish.

I leave for Latin America in T-14 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to miss all of my friends while I'm in Latin America. 
It brings a small, leaky tear to my eye.
