He was under the general threshold of the door, wondering what next to do about his door. The tips he'd been given by the Spanner-guy on the network had worked better than his neighbor, Kyoko's initial idea of prying the "stem-thingy" back from what used to be his doorknob.

"Oh, uh, hi?" He looked over his shoulder, smiling sheepishly at the girl as she came into view. "Just um, trying to figure this thing out." He gestured lamely to his now unstuck, but unusable door.

"I suppose I'll have to bring my laptop with me. The rest of the stuff isn't all that valuable anyway so I don't suppose anyone will be inclined to steal anything." He said to no one in particular.

Kyoko chuckled, "You can just leave it at my apartment, if you want," she said, gesturing to her door with a slight nod of her head. "We're only going out to eat, anyways, and the doors are pretty secure...when they're not broken."

She surveyed the now-broken door, the metal pried away from the wood and the stump where his doorknob clearly used to be. "...Not sure how you're going to get that fixed, though. Kotegawa-san isn't exactly the most...handy landlord in Namimori."

"You're telling me." Fran snorted before stepping back into the apartment, picking up his laptop which he set along the wall in the corridor so that he could close his unhinged apartment door. "That should do." He stepped back and scooped his computer up from where it sat. "I checked out the hinges, the screws are all okay so I think I'll just have to wind them back in, maybe drop by the hardware store to pick up that glue for wood and everything else."

He was stalling a little. Just a little. He wouldn't call himself and sociable type and this -- this was socializing.

"You don't need to treat me out for lunch. Am alright now, really."

"No, it's okay. You're new to Namimori, right? Even if you don't care about Valentine's Day or whatever, you could still use to get to know the area, right?" she flashed him another smile. "We can try calling Kotegawa-san later, but who knows how well that will go. My brother's pretty good with that kind of thing, though, he work in the Maintenance department at-"

As she had started talking Kyoko had also been making her way towards the stairs, and she now looked over her shoulder to Fran, "Come on, you're coming, right?"
