We are still in discussion about the "A" name...I've previously mentioned that the kid will be named James with an "A" middle name, and there's a good chance we will call him by the "A" name. Now I'm not saying that we will be naming our son based on the outcome of a LiveJournal poll, but I ( Read more... )

John's family alternate off the eldest son being called James and John by generations. So, he's John Anderson, his daddy is James Arnold, his grandfather is John Anderson, his great-grandfather is James Alexander, and so forth. Since we're ponying up the first male grandchild, James A-something it shall be. And my brother is James Andrew, so we're keeping it family-style around here!

I just picked Alan as it is my brothers name (well, he spells it Allan). He was named for my mother, whose name was Alaine and my Grandfather, who was William Allen. Just partial to it. :)

I went with Archer because, well, I like archery. But might I also suggest instead of just August you go with Augustine?

I don't know if you've already decided, but my vote is for Alistair.

[I'm one of Rachael's friends, by the way-- so this is random but not THAT random :) ]
