How To Contain Your Excitement: An Ineffective Tutorial

Feb 23, 2012 08:03

Here is the latest in a proud tradition of LiveJournal entries that start with me saying, "Oh it has been so long since I've made an entry." In the interest of time, we'll just skip the bit where I make excuses and get onto the good stuff (such as it is). ^_ ( Read more... )

Drunken London fanfic writing sitcom sounds great. Count me in.

I need to buy clothes. I've lost weight and nothing fits me now.

Congrats on the smut award. I figure if you get a pretty then it doesn't make much different if you win or runner up. Go you! Write More!

Drunken London *everything* sounds pretty good to me about now. Work is making me angry today, so that makes me desire several rounds of heavy drinking. GRRRR!

Looks like we're all buying clothes in preparation for the trip... hahaha I wish I had lost enough weight for my old clothes not to fit. I've lost a bit, but not that much. :P

I should write more. Trying to do that soon, but with so many external stress points it's a bit hard to concentrate at the moment. The occasional smut award is very motivational, however! Though perhaps not as flattering as a plot award. ^_~

How about a link to that runner-up fic?

And yes, LoM fandom rulesrulesrulesrules. It rules. I have been cheating on LoM fandom with Sherlock, and it only tells me that while there are tons of fantastic writers in the Sherlock 'verse, LoM fandom still rules.

Welcome.

Oooh, did I forget to link it in the post? My bad if I did. I'll go you one better, though. Here's a link to all the BtVS fan fiction I've written in the past couple years, including WiP but excluding drabbles: http://rebelxxwaltz.livejournal.com/15310.html

I've nearly finished watching Sherlock, but I haven't wandered into fandom yet. Well, with the exception of the totally unavoidable horde of Sherlockians I encounter on tumblr every day. :P

Everybody in LoM fandom is sooooo nice, and the chat/rewatch on Sunday was hilarious. I think I'll be sticking around for awhile!

I came to Buffy very late - I think the show had finished airing, and my OH and I decided, "Hey, maybe we'll watch it." We got through season 2, I think, enjoying it, but then got distracted by a whole bunch of other things (i.e. Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Doctor Who, Life on Mars... the list goes on).

So there's a lot of Buffy canon that I just don't know about. Bear that in mind, if I read and comment on your Buffy fic!

Ooooh, you said the dirty word: canon. :P

You shouldn't have too many canon-compatibility issues if you happen to read my fic-- I ship Buffy/Giles, which is most emphatically *not* canon (since everyone else seems to think they have a 'father-daughter relationship'), and AUs and episode re-writes are my specialty. Hahaha!

As far as other fandom distractions? You have an excellent list! Hahaha... have you ever watched the original Battlestar Galactica, as opposed to the new one? I've got a soft spot for it. :P

I'm also a hug Doctor Who fan. It was, in fact, my first fandom when it all comes down to it. As illustrated in this controversial post entitled 'My Long and Complicated Relationship With Doctor Who: http://rebelxxwaltz.livejournal.com/17253.html

Errr... that's all. Sorry for the word-pukey comment response! :P

EPIC LONDON TRIP WILL BE EPIC!!!

Need to buy clothes. Down to one pair of jeans and they are tatty. Shirts, well, they are a mess.

I've already congratulated you on your win, but will do so publicly. CONGRATS.

Drunken fic writing. Much entertainment there. And yes, I threaten your shoes, it's the only thing that (sort of) works. ;)

We are all buying clothes, it seems. For me it's quite an ordeal. You know my ways better than most-- after all, I already had a twenty minute long discussion with you about what I want to wear on the plane. :P

I'm really excited to try the communal drunken fic writing. Never tried writing fic with anyone else before, never mind face to face and in an inebriated state. Could produce some interesting results! Knowing us, we'll have tried before even leaving the airport. We do have a few hours to kill at Newark, after all!

Your threats against my shoes do make me angst a fair bit, but I've got my revenge in store. My evil sock monkey slippers will be there to guard and protect the other shoes! ^_~

Oh wow, this is now my... fifth trip to London? I love love love that city! It's a little strange, really... I know London better than I know New York City, even though NYC is only a couple hours away from where I live by train. 0_o

Last year I did London and Paris, which were both amazing. Really just looking forward to visiting friends and relaxing, this time 'round. ^_^
