another year older, another year more irked

As many of you know that my birthday is Dec13th . . . right in the middle of Christmas season. Everyone asks me what I want for my birthday . . . I usually don’t say much, and here is why: every time I for something that I really want something always goes horribly wrong.

When my grandma Pat was alive all I wanted for my birthday was to take ( Read more... )

It's not easy having a December birthday, even if you don't celebrate Christmas. I'm sorry. :( That family dinner sounds really nice. I would love something like that, too! Dave N Busters sounds pretty neat.

The dinner Tom took you to sounds fantastic!

Both Tom and my brother have summer birthdays. . . I want a pool party for my birthday.

The dinner that Tom took me to was amazing, the cook was funny, played with fight and made me a blue balloon sword. Tom tries so hard and he is such a great boyfriend. I love his back and foot massages.

Tom's a great boyfriend and the dinner was great. Between my parents (father and stepmother) getting a divorce, my mom trying to find a job, my brothers being frustrated, Tom's losing his father and niece this year. . . it was just hard to find my birthday or Christmas Spirit.

I went to the Dave and Busters in St. Louis over the summer -- boy, is that place huge. Also loud and crowded and relatively dark, which I didn't like very much, but we had fun.

Emily's birthday is on the 21st and Jillian's on the 27th, so I very much feel your pain. I go to great lengths to separate birthdays from Christmas, but it's really hard to do.

There are just some years I don't even want a birthday, or I just want a day of sleep. It's not like you were a kid when you got parties, cake and a bunch of presents. However as you get older, your friends get fewer and you don't really want a reminder of how old you are. And then you get the hustle and bustle of the holidays with everything. . . it's just all crazy.

My youngest went that route this year -- didn't want a party or any gathering at all, just to stay at home. Can't say I blame her.

Dinner was nice, but with Christmas and the holiday. . . money gets too tight for a party.
