~ I took a week of staycation off from work at the beginning of the month. I have a lot of vacation time saved up at my job, but I'd been putting off using it because I still don't deal so well with being home alone. But I managed to stay busy, and it worked out. I finished the border in front of the hose bed (although it's already fallen over), added more rocks to my rock bed, put up a new bedstand and curtains in my room, and did a few other things around the house.
~ Sara, Athena, her kids, and I went to my favorite pizza buffet place for my birthday. Instead of self-serving, you now have to tell the employees what you want and they put it on your plate for you because of the stupid virus. Abram ate mostly ate off the salad bar (cucumbers and carrots with ranch), and a little of the cheesey bread. I wouldn't believe that any 4-year-old child would want vegetables at a pizza place, but I guess that's Athena's kid for you! After that, we all went to a park where we'd never been before. They had a very tall, impressive rocketship playground, and I had almost as much fun on it as Abram! We also find a free little library there, which I'd never seen before.
~ Mom has been talking about coming here for Thanksgiving (rather than us going to see her). That part of our family is pretty stressed out right now; my aunt and uncle are trying to move to South Carolina, and everyone is still trying to recover from the hurricane. A national news program reporting on the hurricanes showed drone footage of the street I grew up on, and it was a sea of blue tarps. Sara said she isn't even going to worry about Thanksgiving because who knows what will/won't even happen. I just hope 2020 doesn't have anything else up its sleeve. 68 days left until 2021!!!
~ Last week was warm like August, which I really enjoyed, but a cold front blew in last night, and now it's almost as cold as winter! Ugh!
