[The video comes on with a couple little clicks - his claws against the sides of the Dreamberry - but for the moment, all that's seen is one, narrowed eye. Or what can be construed as an eye, really; the bright, white glow might change one's opinion of whether or not it is one ( Read more... )

[In all of his time spent prowling around since coming here, Kain had mostly tried to not think too much about the possibility of Raziel's arrival in such a chaotic and secret laden place. So much so that the thought was pushed to the very depths of his conscious mind ( ... )

[He's a little too proud to admit to himself that he's technologically impaired and go to check it himself as well, so it's hardly likely that he'll figure out how to hang up unless told...

He finally makes it to the aerie's area as well, nodding as a greeting to Kain when he sees him under the front arch.]

So, this is where you and Janos had taken to living, then? Or had you only moved in after the Ancient left?

[Ah he can sympathize with that pride. Which is why he knows Raziel won't take the first step.]

I was out exploring this place when he suddenly vanished off the network of the Dreamberry. I knew where he built it so I moved in to make it my base of operations of sort. It is undeniable that the location is perfect in overseeing the settlement below as well as the desert beyond.

Though, it's quiet disadvantageous for one with no wings.
You are quite lucky to not be clumsy enough to fall from it.

[He's just giving jabs, of course. It's what he does.]

Well, Kain, it seems I am your guest, here. Are you not going to show me around?

[He's going to shrug off the jab since even without wings he has his bat form so in your face mister blues.]

Indeed I probably should do just that. Heaven knows you might get lost or wander around or perhaps even unlock some ancient secret that can doom this world.

[His own little subtle jab since yes he knows everything that transpired since their first chat.]

[Whatever mister grounded, he doesn't see you turning into a bunch of bats right now, does he? B(]

I do have a bad habit of doing that, don't I?
But don't worry, if this had been recently constructed, I have high doubts that there will exist anything I could potentially set forth upon this land.

[That'd get a chuckle, if Raziel was the kind to laugh. Instead, he'll simply start walking past Kain, to go and check out the elder Vampire's new home.]

[Because he doesn't need to, mister skin and bones.]

That you do. Then again Nosgoth does need some of those scabs torn off if it is to ever heal.

[He walks in step with Raziel wasting little time in making idle chatter.]

I wouldn't be so sure if I were you Raziel. Not too long ago, a shard of utter nightmare energy was embedded into the side of the mountain. I sensed the aura from the very ground.

"Utter nightmare energy"? And it's embedded in the mountain...

[He may have to check that out later; it sounds like it's right up his alley.

... Which goes against what Kain had just told him, but his curiosity is killing him.]

Had it caused any major happenings? Tremors, deaths, perhaps even summoning creatures of some sort?

Was. The shard was destroyed by a band of volunteers who were sent looking for a scouting party that vanished in its vicinity.

[He can see that almost childlike eagerness to explore. It makes his lips curve into a faint smirk.]

It was caused by major happenings and led to major happenings. Not too long ago a giant statue that lay inert for quite some time, suddenly rose up and attacked the city. The Shard in question was in fact one of the many knives it used to siege this place. I had the pleasure of facing off against the construct.

And I'm sure you enjoyed yourself during that battle.

[He continues walking a bit, before pausing and looking to Kain - since he's the one who knows the place more, after all, it'd be dumb for Raziel to wander off and get lost.]

Do you suppose there are remnants of the Shard's energy around, perhaps?

You could say it was a suitable diversion, yes.

[Though to be honest fighting a mindless machine was hardly at entertaining as one might think.]

I would think so. I can pick up faint traces with the wind flowing from that general direction.

... I may have to visit that area at some point, then.

[His curiosity is seriously getting the best of him, now.]

As for being a good host and giving your guest a tour, you're hardly doing a good job, Kain.

[Which is sarcasm, of course; he's more just hinting that he has absolutely no clue what the place's floorplan is.]

Do tread lightly if you do. Who knows what might be lurking around even now.

[Completely unphased by Raziel's remark. Better people have taken snipes at him, boy. Yes you are still a boy to him.]

There are no landmarks built by Janos. I am sure you know how modest he was. Also I am fairly sure you are not interested in the kitchen. It is a little messy after the previous feast.

[A dark chuckle goes with his bluff]

[He's still a boy to a lot of you old hags back home. B(]

Oh, of course.

[He's not sure if the jab at his unability to eat is on purpose or a happy accident, of course.]

Mind you, I don't plan on staying here as well; I'm fairly certain you wouldn't enjoy having me about on a daily basis, anyway.

I would merely like to see Janos's handiwork. There's much to be learnt from him.

[And as such he still lacks the wisdom his other self had before going into the blade.]

No I did not expect you would. After all you still fear the blade.

[His eyes move towards raziel's arm where the Reaver is usually summoned from. The same reaver which is now contained in its corporeal shell.]

I will show you to his chambers then. You will find it to be unchanged.

[Since he doesn't really spend THAT much time in the place. Only when the snow gets too much to bear.]

[Raziel does tense a bit - he'd forgotten that Kain was still armed with the Reaver's material form - but does nothing about it. After all, Kain's yet to turn it on him, here; he would have done it much sooner if he'd planned to.]

I will follow you, then.
