It is terrible how quickly you lose languages if you don't use them. Before I had kids, my Punjabi had just about reached simple conversation level. Now...well, not so much.

I wonder if you called the school if Senora Cruz-Conlon still works there? *hugs*

You are so darn bad ass.

You are such an inspiration. I started reading a Harry Potter book in Spanish, figuring that familiarity with the material would help me get through it. I put it down after a chapter or two because I had to look up so many words that I could barely get through a couple of pages in a couple of hours. But then, even after 11 years of Spanish classes, and three years of working with native Spanish speakers (four years now), my Spanish has never been at a conversational level.

Mostly I'm afraid to practice on real people, because I fear that either they'll speak English just fine and wonder why I'm assuming they speak Spanish, or that they'll take off full speed and I won't understand them.

I should go back to that book next when I get home. :) Oh hey, do you think "Don Quixote" would be available for free kindle download in the original Spanish?

Thanks. I figure, if I struggle through the arduousness of it, I may actually glean some language-skill by the end.

That said, I've not finished a chapter since this post. Too much knitting going on. :P

As for the free ebook version - Project Gutenberg has it:
