January's almost over and I haven't made my annual reading post! Largely I've been dreading seeing just how few books I read this past year, between football and riding my bike to work, I haven't had my usual reading times. And I read "War and Peace". That's gotta take a chunk out of the total number.

So, I'm attempting to read "Don Quixote" in the original Spanish. I'd read a decent-sized excerpt in high school Spanish class and was all proud of my bad self and always intended to get back to it ( Read more... )

Most days at work I sit at the top of the exit stairs, where I can look out the window at the parking lot to see when my ride arrives, and read whatever book I happen to be reading. It wasn't a good year for me in books. I made this resolution to read all the books I bought and hadn't read yet, and I found that there was, in many cases, a reason I hadn't read these books. I started out 2009 with a resolution to Read Less and Write More. Let's see how I did, eh? I've bolded the books I recommend as good reading. Over-all, I think I read quite a few good books this year, and just a few stinkers.
