aww thanks so much. I worked on my dress from January until probably the week before the wedding. I hand beaded the front to match my veil. The funny thing about my dress was I totally cheated. My actual dress is very thin and is basically like a frilly top layer. What made up the bulk of the dress (puffing it out) was a huuuuuge frilly tulle underskirt that I was got to go under it. After the wedding I shortened my gown from the waist (so as to not damage the bottom) and made it into a sun dress.

I was telling my boyfriend about this community a few nights back, and he asked me if anyone had a pirate themed wedding. Now I can tell him they did!

Your wedding looked beautiful. I love your dress, and the gloves you are wearing.

yeah her reception was awesome I can post more pics sometime if you want to see them. She wore the same big puffy underskirt I wore under my wedding dress under her pirate costume.

I think it is so cool not only that you did the theme wedding, but that you MADE everything yourself!

Girl you are AWESOME :-D

That is a lovely dress! and so unique! while there are a lot of old fashion-y themed weddings I think you struck one that was truly different. I also love your gloves.

Thanks I think so. It's hard work but honestly sometimes it's cheaper in the long run because so much of it is DIY. I would like to think that my best friend and I both have pretty DIY weddings, which our very punk hubbies were proud of.
