Today I finally received the "Teach yourself Czech" book. I already read through the first lesson, which contained a lot of things I already knew. The teaching style is a bit weird: at some times you'll find explanations geared towards people who haven't learned any foreign language yet (e. g. explaining what "word stress" is), but then the author ( Read more... ) -
Progress report
Right now I know about 35 of the most common phrases and I'm confident about the pronunciation now. I have been listening to some Czech songs and to the first Pimsleur Czech lesson (courtesy of www.simonsays.com). Czech!
I will have the chance to visit Brno (second biggest city in the Czech Republic) and attend a seminar on languages and language-learning on the internet there from November 4th to 10th. The seminar will be mostly in Esperanto; it is being organised by a group called E@I (Esperanto che Interreto) and they are also the ones to pay almost all my costs ( Read more... ) -
