[As much as she would like to have that free meal , let it not be said that Lilly is so selfish that she can't recognize someone feeling distressed.]

We could always reschedule if you're not up for it. [She'll just... find something bland to eat instead.]

[Witnessing Lilly's sensitive side is strangely reassuring.]

... No, it's all right. Better to get my mind off things.

I suppose. But perhaps you would like to do it elsewhere? [Lonely house must be tough, right?] Perhaps at my place. It won't be as [empty? lonely?] quiet there.

All right. [She's willing to go along with pretty much anything right now.] Just give me a moment to get all of the ingredients together and I'll be right over.

[Asad's not a familiar name, but the first...]

Jale too...?

[Whoa, what a pretty girl. What was Jale doing when Marica wasn't looking??]

You knew him? I'm sorry, but I think he got sent back sometime during last week's mess.

[Clearly Jale has the moves.]

Well, we talked a little before and he helped me set up some stuff, so... [nod] yeah, I think you could say we knew each other. Don't be sorry though, it's not a bad thing that he's been sent back anyway, right?

... Right.

I'm glad that he was able to make friends here, though. I know he can be a little hard to understand sometimes.

I'm sorry to hear you're the only one left from your world now. [That seems the best thing to say really, because he knows she doesn't want them stuck here, but was happy to have people she knew.

And well, he couldn't keep avoiding her. They needed to talk about things sooner or later, he'd just not bring it up until she was less upset.]

Piers... [She should probably be freaking out or something, but she doesn't really feel like it.]

... It's okay. When I think about it, Jale had it a lot worse before I got here.

But at least now he's home. I remember you saying you wouldn't want others stuck here, right?

Yeah, I know. I'm glad that they're both out of here now. But that's why it's so... ergh.

I've... I think I knew them. Are they from your world, Marica?

They are. You knew both of them? [Small world... or small village, as it were.]

I think I talked to them before. I didn't really know them well... Maybe I talked to Asad once...

I see... [Not that surprising a response.] It seems like we know a lot of the same people.

Both of them? [He'd only met them briefly, but they seemed like okay guys, so that kind of sucks.] Sorry to hear that.

It's all right. It's kind of funny, when you think about it. Everyone wants to go home, but when they actually do, everybody on this side feels sorry about it.

Nobody likes being left behind.

[Especially when you've been stuck here for like, ever.]

I can't argue with that. Though in a place like this, I imagine you don't really have a choice but to get used to it.
