So the other day I refused to hear out Dad on an argument which hinged on the belief that Christianity is wrong, on the basis that his argument was fundamentally flawed because he came to it from a false worldview.  He called me closed-minded.

The fact is that no person in the whole world can be completely unbiased and open-minded. The sad (and dangerous) fact about our society today is people believe [!] that they have no beliefs, and tolerate everything, etc. Which ends up leading to some of the most horribly violent intolerance of all time. I see this most strongly on the issue of homosexuality, but it's all over the place...

How different is the ECO from the PCA or even the OPC?

I'm still learning about the different branches of Presbyterianism (but Mother says the difference massive), I'm afraid; I'll try to do more research myself, and share what I've found ( ... )

I'm reading the ECO document right now. I can see already how it's different from the OPC (which is the one I'm most familiar with -- though I'm Reformed Baptist, so quite close to OPC, but no Presbyterian. :-) ) It's interesting, though, and certainly a step away from what I perceive as problems in the PCUSA ( ... )

PS: 1984!!!!!!!!

I'm always shocked that Lewis didn't like Orwell and vice versa. I mean, I see where they disagree, but they agreed on SO MUCH (and 1984 and That Hideous Strength have so much in common) that I'd have thought they would appreciate each other.
