The problem with re-centering NASA is that it acts as a the organization that provides services for national defense and air safety. There is a strong connection between the air force, army, FAA, etc, and NASA ( ... )

NASA would work much better if it were privately funded. I'm sure that there are a lot of people and businesses willing to help fund NASA

Though I agree that AlGore Climate Change is a waste of research dollars, this might be a good thing. If NASA hires more people and purchases more goods and services, we might see that money circulate around the economy.
