Not the kind of fire like you find in southern California these days, but the kind of FIRE needed to fight politically correct restrictions on free speech, as FIRE found at the University of Delaware.

Personally, if any of my RAs had started asking me questions like that, I would have simply said, "It's none of your f***ing business." and walked out. If they'd have pushed it, hello lawsuit!!!

My children are deaf and use cued speech, a system we chose so that they could get more out of the hearing world. (According to Deaf Culture folks, this makes us evil. Well, that and the cochlear implants.)
Anyhow, if they go to the University of Delaware, can I demand that everybody learn cued speech or better yet deafen themselves so that they become less ablest?

Well, the kids also "white" and of European descent, but they haven't been socialized normally due to their deafness. All the little nasty, constant slurs that happen in the hallways of public schools have bypassed them. So are they innocent of that? But insults concerning their own disabilities have also gone largely unheard. Mixed blessing there.

Look for a rise in private, religious colleges that corresponds with the rise in homeschooling and private secondary schools.
If this trend continues the nation really will break in two.
