Such as the story you posted on October 13th about Craig Fitzhugh, the Democratic candidate in Tennessee who supposedly "altered a special olympics poster to read 'Voting for Bush is like running in the Special Olympics, even if you win you're still retarded.'" Craig Fitzhugh had nothing to do with that offensive flyer. In fact, he and his wife actually volunteer every year with the Special Olympics, which makes the story especially rediculous. I wouldn't even call it a "story" really, more like a poorly conceived smear campaign. And even though the story was absurd to begin with (and has now been widely discredited), you reposted it without any question as to it's veracity. Isn't it a bit irresponsible to be highly critical of an Associated Press story, but to accept a Drudge Report (or wherever you got it from) story at face value? Especially when such a story is a serious defamation of someone's character?
Whether he or his campaign had anything to do with it remains to be seen. I have seen a report that it was available for weeks from his campaign and reports of his denial.
Perhaps you could point to a source that discredits it?
