Interviews and Cash Flow Problems
Today I have an interview with a medical supply distributor company for a customer service position. I have been getting zero interest in any of the resumes I have sent out for analyst and actuarial positions for the last three months. I have a few theories as to what I think may be behind the utter lack of interest:

The Last Straw
The last straw finally came crashing down today. I was fired from my job this afternoon. It was civil. They let me know that they appreciated my work and that much of it was first rate, but that some types of work they needed from me was sub-par. Sick Kitty Blues
My cat, Lumpy, has been sick for a couple of months. She's been sneezing and seemed to have some trouble breathing. She also lost a tooth when she was outside back in late December. Yesterday she started sneezing blood, so I finally took her to the vet this morning. They did some tests and I don't yet know what's wrong with her, but it looks likely ( Read more... ) -
Short and Sweet.
I can't believe how busy work has been since late last week. I worked at least sixteen hours yesterday. I'll probably work about the same today. I feel like I'm drinking from a fire hydrant. I just came from about two months where there was very little to do, so now I don't want to let any projects go. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to learn ( Read more... ) -
No Progress Pics
I took the pictures I wanted to use to watch for progress. I can't bear to post them right now. It's pretty depressing to look at them. Pictures are so much more objective than a mirror, because in a mirror you can just focus on one part of yourself at a time and not see the whole. Under Pressure
I have been taking an online course in corporate finance for work for which the final exam is on Wednesday. I never used to get test anxiety, but lately I think I've been getting it, but subverting it so that little things send me into a panic (ie. the computer not working).
