My favorite Anne Rice book would have to be The Witching Hour. The history of the Mayfair family is one of the most interesting, most atmospheric and exotic writings I've read in the horror genre (not that I've read much horror). The end, though, I still think is a little bit out in left field, almost as if she couldn't think of anything good to do with her great idea, so just threw it out there to see where it would go. I don't enjoy the next book past that, Lasher, as much but I do enjoy Taltos because of the whole mythology of Lasher and Ashlar explained.
