I'm doing a catch-up on everything I've missed (going away for three days means no internet for three days), and I've found bad news and good news.

Noel Fielding's new programme is hitting E4 sometime this Autumn.  Thankfully, I will be in France and won't have access.  Even the title rubs me the wrong way.  I mean 'Luxury Comedy'? In what ( Read more... )

Aw, I feel a bit bad for disliking Noel Fielding - I'm sure he's lovely in real life, but his comedy isn't for me.

I'd love to have seen DOD as new Buzzcocks host. I thought that was the direction they were going in, seeing as he hosted the series highlights episode and also that Buzzcocks Live thing at some festival (Latitude, I think), plus I thought he was the guest host most likely to take the role (rather than Lee Mack or someone, who was brilliant but is probably too busy to host Buzzcocks permanently).

Ah, I know, there can never be too many programmes involving Chris Addison and/or Seann Walsh. ♥

I don't know about the Buzzcocks thing... I think they should probably get a permanent host. David O'Doherty would be great, I love him! ...Or just give up on it, I guess. With the guest hosts, it's great when someone I like hosts, but if I'm not into the host that much and all the guests are a mystery to me (which happens sometimes if you're an American watching a foreign quiz show, haha) it's not as good (but I still watch it for Noel Fielding).

I'm looking forward to QI! I'm really pleased Ross Noble's going to be on again, the episodes he was on last series made my whole family hysterical. :D

I was so hoping for the DOD to be the permanent host, seeing as he hosted the series highlights episode and also that Buzzcocks Live thing, and I thought he'd be the guest host most likely to take the role permanently, compared to say Lee Mack, who was brilliant but is probably too busy to host Buzzcocks. When it's the guest host format, a lot really does depend on the host, and Buzzcocks haven't quite nailed it yet, I don't think (whereas 'Have I Got News For You' has consistently good hosts, Buzzcocks is about half and half, in my opinion). Haha, sometimes I don't even know who the guests are. :P

I'm sure Noel Fielding's lovely in real life, but his comedy isn't much to my tastes. :P

Ah Ross Noble! He was great on it last time. I think QI is really good at involving new guests - they always have plenty to say, whereas on 'Mock tThe Week' new guests can sometimes be a bit quiet. But yeah, the more Ross Noble, the better. :) ♥
