Hi everybody,

first, please excuse the long, long silence on our part. Today,we mainly want to let you all know that Read Lord of the Rings Alound still lives, and will continue to do so! This is such an exceptional project and community, and none of us wants to let it die, despite the occasional shorter or longer *coughs* hiatus the community has

Since I'm at back-upping the older readings: I've come across a few readings from you where the links to your readings no longer work, probably because like me, you perhaps used the mp3-player-widget box.com had offered for a time but now stopped. Would it be much trouble for you to add the links again? That would be awesome!
So far, I've found missing links in "Book III, Chapter 9, Flotsam and Jetsam", "Hobbit Day 2013", "Book III, Chapter 8, The Road to Isengart", "Book III, Chapter 6, The King of the Golden Hall". I haven't gone further back yet, and these are only those where I didn't have a backup of your reading yet, so more entries in-between might have missing links.

I swore I'd added all my readings to the Reading LOTR Tindeck account as well as my own Tindeck account, but I'll check and see what I have saved on my computer.

I noticed on the Tindeck site a notice that it's for sale. I wonder if that means you'll lose the account? What a bother.

ETA: My earlier readings were done using LJ Voice Post, so I'm not sure how long those are kept. I might have made copies of those, but I'm not sure. I don't know anything about box.com, but will check it out.

ETA2: I was able to download all my LJ Voice Posts but one of the ones you're missing, Book 3, Chapter 8 The Road To Isengard has disappeared from my post. :-( I suppose I could record it again. And do you remember what the Hobbit Day 2013 reading was?

Oh dear, I didn't know about tindeck! I haven't uploaded anything for a while, and all the files still work. I'm going to also backup the readings on tindeck (I have most of them already). But I hope whoever buys it will keep it up as it is, and that somebody buys it in the first place! I paid for us for a life-long account, although that might not continue after a sale, too, of course. *sigh* Perhaps we need to find another site, but I'll put that back until we've got a full backup, and are up and running again. The problem is that we can't use just any music/podfic hosting site since we're not doing podfic and are legally in an grey area d as we're recording a book not yet in the public domain without explicit permission
