That boy was completely oblivious to the impending confrontation at the behest of a cell phone. In fact, he seemed completely oblivious to everything else as well, standing there under the street light with his hands shoved in the pockets of his designer coat.

How long had it been since he'd gained these powers? And he hadn't even done anything with them. Oh, a few things here and there, just to test them out, but nothing destructive. Nothing villainous. Wasn't that negating the point of having them in the first place ( ... )

Fighter almost couldn't believe her eyes. Him? Really? That boy she'd seen around school whining something about being Kaito's nemesis? Surely the universe was playing some kind of cosmic joke on her that it would be this loser. One hand reached for her cell phone and silenced it. She had her target; she didn't need to know anything more from it.

She stood outside the light cast by the lamp, pitched her voice to carry. "Unless I'm mistaken, you've gotten your hands on something very dangerous, little boy."

His head snapped up, eyes hunting out the source of the voice. Maybe she was counting on staying unseen outside the lamplight, but Siegmund had shadow powers. If she was in the shadows, she was in his territory. He could see her in perfect clarity.

And wow, who the hell was she trying to fool? She was dressed like a stripper - or a cosplayer. Did she expect anyone to take her seriously?

Still, though. He probably shouldn't take this lightly. She was challenging him, and as a villain there was only one answer for that.

He stepped away from the streetlight, squared his shoulders, and faced her. Calm, confident, and annoyed, the proper attitude for a villain in his place. "What do you want, woman?"

"You have a shard," Fighter said simply, ignoring the implied insult in just being called woman. "It will eat you alive."
