I'm not a (vege/mar)mite fan myself. I reason that if the walls of your mouth try to back away from it when you put it in, it's something you can live without.
I was a strange Aussie kid, I hated it. Until I got to about 15 and realised that with cheese on toast it's actually kind of awesome. Still not one of those people who slather it on though :\
I had a day like that yesterday!! =) They're the greatest. Especially in the middle of stressing. And your piece sounds so cool. I wish I played an instrument well. (I can play guitar and piano, but not at the level I would like. =P)
Vegemite made me remember I need to go buy a new jar of marmite. XD
Ahahaha practicing...a strange concept that I was never familiar with...XD LOL. In my defense, the viola part is not usually terribly thrilling to practice, haha.
...what in the world is that Vegemite stuff??? o___0
*chuckles* ... They are if you can't sight-read alto clef :S In orchestra we're playing Pomp and Circumstance and there's this one bit that I can barely play in 1st position. Our tutor goes 'that's all supposed to be on the G string' I was all 'yeahhh that ain't happening' XD I was having such a shit day too. But yesterday made up for it.
Spread derived from yeast, essentially. It's bitter and salty and you would definitely call it an 'acquired taste' XD
YAY alto clef!! <3 I can't read treble clef at all. FAIL.
Mention of first/second position etc. gives me nightmares. Every time I saw treble clef I knew, oh damn, here comes a position...XD LOL
Ohhh Pomp and Circumstance, good grief we played that thing every single year for graduation. Worst part was that we had a HUGE school and it was a short song so we'd have to repeat it over and over and over...XD
Is it difficult to learn viola from playing violin? I refused to ever try the violin so I only know viola. o_0
Er. Hm. Spread derived from yeast. Not sure what to think of that...hahaha
Bahaha. I'm guessing you didn't play the second line all up in 5th (And shifting every 2 notes) then... IT'S PAINFULLY DIFFICULT! Eek. Gotta love the mis-timed pieces. I've never actually played it before on violin either.
It's a bit harder to make a decent sound (especially considering I don't have the greatest viola to work with, but it's ok) because you need more arm weight than for violin. Other than that it's just the sight-reading. And circumventing reflexes as to where notes are. I'm a reasonable treble-clef sight-reader, and I'm only realising now how good my associations with which string to play etc are - because I have to ignore them!
"We all enjoy our Vegemite/for breakfast, lunch and tea." (This song was stuck in my head for, like, half an hour after I read this post yesterday. :D) I like the b&w one with all the pretty colour streaks. <3
and got told my rhythm for the Brahms Hungarian Dance was perfect once I stopped consciously using rubato.
Awesome! No idea what rubato is, but awesome anyway, LOL.

I intend to look up that piece when I get home, if I remember.

Which one did you listen to? (people seem to miss that there are two... XD)
Enough with the Marmite already! :P
Have you tried Vegemite before?
Reply
Oh!! Well, now I've listened to them both!! They're great!!
But it's sooooo good. =P
I have once. It was pretty good. I'd eat it if I got it again.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean here :P
