State of the left index finger

It's been almost two weeks, and it's almost better. It's still got the annoying sensitivity/itchiness, but the cut itself has been healing great, except for the occasional twinge when I stretch wrong, and some excruciating thing I occasionally manage to do that I think is probably catching a very tiny piece of skin/scab somehow and pulling at the ( Read more... )

Nah, you're not an idiot, you're just a scientist at heart. I'm glad things are at least improving!

That's what I was going to say. Of course a professional scientist would decide testing on yourself isn't very objective, round up some lab assistants and a knife, and replicate the accident/experiment. I know it seems harsh but Science is a cruel mistress... ;>

A few days after I did it I was really worried I'd gotten the tendon since I could barely bend it, and I had no idea if it was just inflammation/stiffness from the splint or if it was the tendon. I still don't understand that logic, considering I never saw the Ortho at the ER. I would have totally understood being (politely) told that I needed to see an Orthopedic before seeing the hand surgeon, but why couldn't I just see any old Ortho? She was quite insistent I absolutely had to see the one from the hospital Considering how lousy my provider directory is, it's quite likely that I wouldn't have been able to do that unless I felt like doing it out of pocket, which I didn't ( ... )

Who did you call? I'm people who knows people. I'd be glad to get you the hookup! What insurance do you have?

Getting past the front desk can be such a pain. *This* is one of the few things I can do to be of use.
