Viola, right-o. Drove up to Seattle this morning and our first stop was a lovely wood warehouse. "So why not make bows? You generally use different (and harder to get) woods, but I would think that making the instrument match the bow more, one built to match the other, instead of just mix-and-matching… don't really know the reason though ( ... )

Oooh, thanks for bow comments. I didn't know that bow was matched to the person's playing style... explains something of it, though not why the two parts to an instrument are done by completely different types of craftsmen.

I can't do carbon fiber. :P I have to make the damn thing, remember, all by my lonesome. Others can't touch, only look and remark.
