I meant to give a nice, long post about my trip to Utah, but that never happened, so here's summary.
Highlights were definetly walking through the animation hallway at BYU (my sister apparently thinks I'm going to be an animation major and has told everyone thus, so I met about 5 animation majors, only two of whom she knew their names and so I didn' ( Read more... )

Welcome back! There are bells in the university? As in bells that ring off when a certain class is over and stuff? I thought universities didn't use them because everyone is expected to keep up with their different schedule without them. Or is it some other type of bell? ^^;; Sounds like you did lots of things. :D Good luck with the exchange program!

Well, they're called the cara...coro...er, something that sounds like caroline...bells. They ring on the hour every hour, and then at noon they have a "recital" every day for 30 minutes, which was when I got to play my line. :) The guy I was with was absolutely brilliant (seeing as its his job, hahaha). You can't hear it quite so much inside the buildings, and its automated on the hour rings. But still very very cool. :D

And thanks for the luck! C:

Yay foreign exchange student!

And yay BYU!

Heh... last time I was in the Bean I saw that springhare and thought of you. It was like, "ah! so THAT'S what those things are."

Pity I never saw ya. They were nervous about shady online people, eh? Were you in the arts center or did they dare take you to the computer lab? 'Cos most of the actual majors spend their time in the lab; you might have been able to look over some shoulders there.

And conference too, mm? I went there in person for the first time... was at the Sunday afternoon session.

Glad you had fun 'n' stuff. I like Utah very much a lot. C:

Actually, I was 100% expecting them to be nervous, so I didn't even bring you up to my parents until we were at Albertson's buying food for Emily. I said "y'know, one of the girls on my lion king site is an animation major at BYU..." and both my parents simentaneously were like "8D That's so cool!!" and my mom asked if I was gonna meet you, and I was just thinking "well gee, if I had known they'd be excited, then I would have tried to arrange this back in Illinois". So its really my fault, but that was the first time my parents haven't had the attitude of person-from-internet=crazy-rapist-man. I guess the fact you were at BYU made them like you. :P ( ... )
