Maybe because there's a serious need for estrogen in canon and fanon.

And their relationship is very interesting, if she had a boy it might be like another male replacement for the other (failed) relationships in her life. If she's with a girl her daughter will teach her to be a better woman. Otherwise she might be dependent on her son ... maybe. And it will be another cycle. (i.e. Virginia & Gabriel).

Though Maya's not crazy ...

I think at the heart of it she would have to overcome her vulnerability, of being alone and raising a child as a single mother would certainly do that. I think she's strong but got hang ups (backstooory, where are you? lol)

BTW the kinda mention Eden (though I missed it).

I think she would be a mama bear and take what she learned from her brother and use it to raise her child.

I like what bellonablack came up with when she did that story where Maya told Sylar/Gabriel her back story about when she first used her powers. For some reason I don't think the time at the wedding reception was her first encounter with her character.

I dl'ed it but haven't watched it yet.
