Papyrus is probably the most over-used font EVER. I've seen it on everything from shampoo bottles to business logos to clothing tags! It has just become... cliche.
RE: comic sans... specifically, I remember several clients in the health care industry who really loved that font. One medical equipment company wanted it for their logo because it was "cute". A home health care company wanted their brochure done in it-- completely. Not so readable! I did cave once and use it for a children's symphony organization because they thought it "fit perfectly". I still think I had better options for them... but hey, you gotta please the client.
We do a recurrent first aid course (every year, along with the recurrent safety/security/etc certification) and this year, the topic was "trauma." Burns, broken bones, onboard childbirth, etc. All the pre-course work, and the write ups for class activities, were printed in Comic Sans. It seemed... inappropriate?
