It's been a while since I was here. Like many, I was sucked into the land of FaceBook and as more and more mates used FB and less and less mates used LJ, FB became the place to stay in contact with people geographically distant, but still close to my heart ( Read more... )

You can, I believe, with mentioning the user name in a post and they will receive a notification (e.g., razorgirl_au to their designated email address. Depending on settings of course.

G'day!

I find the notification setting for FB to be less intrusive than receiving an email. I've just noticed that LJ now has a "track this post/comment" feature. I might experiment with that.

Remind me where and when gaming happens.
I'm hosting board gaming at my new home on Saturdays (12-6pm). Should you be free and interested, let me know and I'll flick you my address.

Sunday in Carlton from 2pm to 6pm (GURPS Middle Earth)
alternate Sunday in Carlton from 2pm to 6pm (7th Sea)
Thursday in Kew from 7pm to 11pm (various at the moment)
alternate Thursday in Richmond from 7pm to 11pm (Laundry files)

All these have a place available.

I'm also playing Eclipse Phase every second Friday in Westgarth. Might be a spot available there, I'd have to ask the GM.

So as you can see my dance card is pretty full!

It seems that there's a growing number of people that are returning, which is adding to the value of returning.

It's been weird having to relearn things that were once second-nature, and to unlearn FB intuition, but it's been worth it. <3

You don't have to choose between FB and LJ. They are good for different stuff.
