Kinda weird, but if a woman calls me 'ma'am' it pisses me off.

So you'd prefer "Miss", then? Why is it different for a woman than a man?

I do prefer 'Miss' but both tend to throw me off since the person trying to get my attention is interrupting me when my head is 100 miles away.

Most of the time when a woman calls me 'ma'am' it feels like she could just as easily be saying 'idiot' or something.

M'am makes me laugh because I don't feel old, so it pleases me in a different way.

I prefer "Miss." Ma'am just sounds old.
