So I spent some time today poking around Twisting the Hellmouth... because I should be having a life and I totally don't. I came across one fic that rewrote the miniseries with characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. The story itself was really not well written, but I thought it was really enjoyable to see their picks for matching up

Dee is Kate Lockley.
Cavil is Holland Manners. No contest.
Tory is Justine.
Kat is Doyle.
I'm not sure who's Tom Zarek. probably Warren.
Ellen is Darla, which doesn't quite work with the character relationships, but...
...and by the same token, Callie is Jonathan.
...Funny how I keep mapping BSG characters on Angel characters rather than Buffy ones.

I'm so glad someone else came to the Darla Ellen conclusion

Love this so much . . .
Andrew as Gaeta. Made of SO MUCH win.
I propose splitting Six into Head-Six and Caprica-Six. Eve makes a wonderful Head!Six, but I think Anne/Lily/whats-her-name-vampire-cultist is good for showing Cap!Six's transformation.
I suspect I'm overthinking this . . .

Really there are no older women on BTVS badass enough to be Roslin. No one is badass enough to be Roslin.

Sharon/Athena - Tara
Six - Darla
Ellen - Faith

Helo - Tara (considering a couple of scenes when Buffy burst into tears when other Scooby were not around except for Tara - especially in the 'Dead Things' finale).
Boomer/Athena - Willow (considering her relationship with Xander and Dark Willow)

The reason I'm really reluctant to change Ellen is because I think Darla is the perfect Ellen... she's also kind of the perfect Six. It's a really tough choice.

Your character mapping really works, and I find the parallels between the universes both hilarious and somehow understandable; after-all, one of the ideas of storytelling is that there are only about 7 basic plot lines/ways to construct a story.
If you go for Willow = Sharon (which I think works better, esp with the 'ships), what about Kat = Faith?
Probably more early-Buffy Faith: both are kick-ass fighters with authority issues, ran away from "home"/identity, resent their first "chosen one", and so on. Mind you, Kat died and Faith didn't, but then Buffy is still alive at the end of the series and Kara PigeonPoof-ed, so the analogies aren't always perfect... :)
And did you notice, not only are all of your senior officers watchers, but your original Scooby gang sans Buffy are all cylons... Hee.
