Borders on insanity

Aug 12, 2006 11:18

I was browsing Borders last night, and in light of recent conversations I've had with missnickers, I've decided to begin paying more attention to the romance novels. (Or as I like to call them, "porn for girls".) And by the way, at the particular Borders I went to, the romance section is right next to the religious section. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! Now what would ( Read more... )

Icon twins!

ROTFL, this is totally something I would do. Me and K spent a while one night in Barnes & Noble laughing over bad romance novel titles. You know, I should make up my own lady porn romance novel titles. I can do just as good as these guys. Mine would be succint and straight to the point of every romance novel ever written. Something along the lines of, "Girl Meets Boy, At First Hates Boy, But Deep Down She Really Longs For Boy's Hot Man Chowder, And She Will Realise This At The Most Inappropriate Moment, and Then They Will Embrace and Make The Sweetest Love Ever Known and Live Happily Ever After, The End." Or maybe something classic and simple, like, "Whore". I'll have to think on it some ( ... )

What's even funnier is that all those titles were the ones on the display rack- I didn't even go into the section itself! But yeah, what's up with all the books about sleeping with one's boss? I'm glad to know that's not really a common female fantasy. I love your title, by the way. Too bad "Girl Meets Boy, At First Hates Boy, But Deep Down She Really Longs For Boy's Hot Man Chowder, And She Will Realise This At The Most Inappropriate Moment, and Then They Will Embrace and Make The Sweetest Love Ever Known and Live Happily Ever After, The End" is probably a bit too long to fit on a book jacket (unless you're planning on making this thing 7,000 pages long). You should probably just go with "Whore".

I do want to do this again sometime, though. It may become a regular feature of my journal. I'm sure there's no shortage of awful titles. We should totally make up a bunch of our own. I'm not sure I can top that batch I already had (for some reason, "His Sword, Her Desire" cracks me up to no end), but it never hurts to try, right?

My personal favorite out of your titles was, "Going Down on the Titanic." *snicker* Maybe I'm just a sucker for historical novels. Actually, all of yours were good, you may have missed your true calling here! ;)
