At times like this I feel like shipping Snape/James just to spite all of you. That ship needs more people anyway.

So I decided to search for some Snape/James shipping fanart to see if any exists. Out of the rare 3 that I found on deviantART so far, already one artist doesn't seem like Lily (though I can't tell if they're kidding). Man, this ship ( Read more... )

After seeing comments like "I ship Snape/James, Lily was a bitch who wasn't good enough for any of them" I'm not tempted by Snape/James, sorry.

Aww crap. Though I had a feeling those type of Lily haters would be out there as well.

I just read SIP's essay on James and stealing, and she makes emphasis on James stealing Lily. But the whole thing stealing Lily thing has been around for years. And then there were also Lily/James shippers who hate Snape and thought Lily being with him would taint her somehow which has also been around for years. There's been fail on all sides when it comes to sexism and Lily.

I'm so sick of people judging her character by her relation to Snape or to James. Either way, the poor woman can't win. Either she was a bitch for dumping Snape or she was slutty for being best friends with Snape and daring not to give James a second thought until her 7th year.

Definitely. I originally had a huge rant with this post, but then I would just be repeating what I and others have already said. I have this evil idea where anyone who bashes Lily or determines her worth based on her love life with either man, I'll just spam them with Snape/James images. Of course it will never happen, but one can dream. XD

Not exactly hate. From what I've been told, it's more of an emphasis that Lily being with Snape would somehow ruin her. Snd some James fans would go nuts if you suggested anything Lily/Snape. It's just the same old bs of Lily's worth determined by either male character, or that their wants are more important than hers.

Lily/Snape was very cliched. Snape/James is certainly better in this regard. They definitely can be said to have UST! Though there's no need to bash Lily in connection with all that.
