Now that I have a job, I really want to get back to my writing. When I moved here I put it aside because finding a job and figuring out a place to live were the most important things. Writing, while it keeps me sane, would not allow me to stay here, with Angelo, in the place that I love. I'm still looking for a place to live--us and a few friends ( Read more... )

I was just thinking about how I NEED to start writing again. You do need to make time for it, esp you I think. It's such a big part of who you are and what you do. :)
I know how hard it is to carve that time though. Especially with others around. You're not in Kansas, sorry, Indy, anymore so you don't have the solitude and you have way more distractions going on. But I know that writers have to have a steel will to put their craft first at times, no matter what so good luck with that. :)

Heh, you know when I moved to this place I was ready to take any menial job to stay. I expected it. Instead I've had some pretty cool work I never expected. I'm glad you like your work. I think it must be very interesting and stimulating and you get to be around aminuls!!! That's the best. :)

I write on my lunch breaks. It's only 30 minutes, but it means I'm writing every day, and once I'm in that habit it's easy to get loads done in that small window!

As writing is your passion it will always return to your life. Maybe it is the new situation as well of being in a place where you like to meet people. Then you more quickly say yes to meeting up. As the fall comes upon us you may desire more personal time to work on your writing. As long as you do in the moment what makes you happy.

You know, you could always do NaNoWriMo and see if there are any locak write-ins you could attend. It would be a fun way to get out, socialize with people who do the same, and write :-)
