Impending Break

Jul 23, 2012 15:52

I'm feeling kind of quiet today. Perhaps it's because Sarah and I were so busy earlier, or maybe it's because I'm slowing down and preparing for the next two days off. Felicia (my boss) noticed how much overtime I had gotten last week and offered to take my Wednesday shift in order to keep that from happening again. I was so very grateful. I love ( Read more... )

How was your last writing break? I think the last time I read your journal you were on the cusp of a two day break from work and intended to do nothing but write? Well I hope it went well and this one does too.

I did read somewhere (I'm sure you know this already) regular journal writing develops one's writing too

I got barely any writing done becuase I was too busy getting rested before heading back to work. It was a learning experience though--it's why the rest of this evening I'm not doing anything besides resting, so that I can write the next two days.

Journal writing for me goes in flux. Sometimes it helps me write, sometimes it doesn't. It depends on how much writing I've done lately, and what method I'm using to write--pen and paper, or computer. If I'm typing, journal writing is a help because it's a different method of writing and kind of unsticks my brain. If I'm handwriting, then it feels more like a chore.

I know what you mean about the OT. I was taking so much at one point, I felt like I just LIVED at work. My creative brain was mush. Breaks are more important than money sometimes. :)

Yes, that's how my brain was--total mush. My coworkers told me they were so busy over the Easter holiday that they even slept at work one time because the drive home was too far to turn around and do it again in the morning and the amount of time they would be gone was so short! I am NOT doing that.

I tried to find the Bermudez Triangle, but the bookstore didn't have it. Didn't have Cameron Post either :( Instead I found Luna and Keeping You A Secret both by Peters.
