This is another cool accent test that plots you in the US according to how you say certain words, like "aunt" and "cot/caught." And what's cool about it is that whatever multiple choice thingy you choose, it tells you immediately where that idiom is from. So you can click on them all, like I did, to see what they mean. :)

I'm perfectly content to be a blue stater, but was kind of hoping for:

when a group of people are standing sequentially, waiting their turn for something... what are they doing? :P

Wow. Wasn't really expecting that. Must be the whole west-coaster thing (plus my use of "y'all," which I picked up at Swat)... that quiz seems to emphasize the Northeast in its definition of "Yankee."

Yeah.. and I don't really see this country's linguistic patterns as Yankee/Southerner. There are lots more variations.

I also got "you are definitely a yankee"... but I don't know anyone who has TAG sales. we call them stoop sales or sidewalk sales, usually.

Yard sales and garage sales are different things, as is a sidewalk/stoop sale. It depends on where it is, dude!
