Second, I think it's totally cool that you could cut out a frock or ensemble on a library table; the public library here would have an entire herd of dairy cows if I tried anything like that.
Which stays are the "sensible stays?" Maybe I ought to be asking, "What year/s are the 'sensible stays?'" [ETA: Oops, never mind: found them! I'd been reading names of patterns, but found the "sensible stays" in the descriptive notes for PP#705, Early- to Mid-Nineteenth Century Stays.]
I still have every confidence that you will prevail and you'll have your 18thC stays done in time for the weekend! So just you go, girl! :^)
Sorry, I was responding to the question, before I had seen that you edited it and found the pattern for the sensible stays. The other stays are indeed 18th C. I can't stay in just one time period, that would be boring. ;D

The other stays are indeed 18th C.
