I have often stated that my experiances taching school have been hellish, and that I belive a large part of this is the fualt of the fact that in our educational system rights are not paired with resoponsibilites. teachers bear 100% of accountablity though they have virtually no power over any of the natural consequences of a students preformance ( Read more... )

Sounds like how things were in my house and since most parents don't want to bother with making sure their children get an education it sounds as if someone will have to step in. However I can see an issue with that since it will cause the parents to have no control over what their children are taught but hell at that the point they would end up there I would have to say they have already proved they don't care about their children. And well the child Tax credit is already used and abused to the point a couple came in and got their taxes this last week they had given 2 kids one parents last name and the other 2 kids the other parents last name so they both could get the child tax credit. And what is even worse is the child tax credit only helps people who make between $35k and 20k any less or anymore and it doesn't help so it doesn't even help those it was designed to help. But I think parents should have to own up to the state getting stuck taking care of their kids I think that should happen to any parent that has a kid in JUV but ( ... )

They should have to pay if thier kid is in juvi, but most kids aren't there long. Part of the idea here is that it is a minimum of half the school year. and yea mostly this will hit parentes who either Don't work with thier kids or whose kids have overpowered them to the point that they Can't control the kids and the kids control Them, an incresingly common situation.

I can go for the boarding school idea if they are local enough to not be culture destroyers, seeing as it's almost a given that the vast majority of the students will be from minority homes. Please reference Native American Boarding Schools for examples of unacceptable government run boarding schools. I'd also be concerned about hazing of the sort found in military schools.

I would think that they would be kept as local as possible run on a state leve so they deffinantly wouldn't be going as far as the indean school, after that population might be the biggest issue in locality. Montana or Alaska might only be able to support one each for instance while New York might have 3 or 4 right in NYC.

As to the hazing, part of being in the school would be near constant supervision, so i hope that would help with the kid centered hazing, as well as the fact that each semester group would come in as a group. I would hope that the mid semseter kids would be grouped in thier own areas to also prevent that. I would also keep up video survaliance to help with hazing by both students and staff.
