Fic: For I Speak Not Loud Or Long

Mar 17, 2007 20:45

So is it just me or are all the major pairing circles in the Heroes fandom just kinda icky? Peter/Claire, Peter/Nathan (Petrelli/anything=bleh), Hiro/Nikki (UH NO WTF), just... bleck. Guess it's one of those rare fandoms where I really do like the canon level of sexuality, which is, well, low. And I liked canon Simone/Isaac, Matt/Janice, Nikki/D.L ( Read more... )

Whoa! This fic is good, a very believable glimpse into the Guild structure.

(First of all, I do love The Wasteland and how it can be applied to anything. ANYTHING. If there's a will, there's a way! Oh, Mr. Eliot, you tease.)

This is wonderful. I adore the way you've gotten into Lucciola's head and how his thought processes seem plausible because of the world you've created. ...Does that make any sense? I find him a very hard character to understand, but this is a way of looking at it that makes him a lot more readable. Or makes his unreadability more clear. Something.

Reading about people's conceptions of life inside the guild is so fascinating, and I really enjoyed this angle of yours. I'll be looking forward to reading more!

...although looking back at the post on overthesky, this is the second one? I was going to ask where to find the first, but with a few seconds of lj stalking I have it, so I think I'll head over in the direction of no.77 presently.

Anyway, like I said, I really liked this and hope to see more in the not-too-distant future. =)

That was wonderful! Beautiful characterisation of Lucciola and the guild in general. I always liked the idea that, if not genetically matched, Lucciola was literally, from birth, made for Dio. That his entire being has known nothing more than the guild, because it makes so much sense.
A real feeling of atmospehre here and the use of greek is perfect, just perfect. I love your Dio too, and your use of hte firefly and... yeah, just in general this is nifty-cool. Fantastic, really fantastic, especially the part where the brother's meet. You managed to characterise Cicida perfectly without him saying a word, which is, when I think about it, possibly one of the reasons he is so well done here. So yeah, ten out of ten! Wonderful!

That was jawesome. A great look at the Guild's internal workings and Lucciola's childhood.

you know, you really have a gift for getting the tiny mannerisms and quirks of characters perfect. dio's fascination with the firefly? oh yes. lucciola's response to cicada at the end, 'you touch him, you will die?' ohhh yes. and i do love how...calm, rational, and calculated lucciola is in his own head--there are those moments when he loses it a bit, but you've characterized him to perfectly show his guild training.

beautiful. love it, love it.

(also, are you a psycho or what for all of the citations and references at the end?! that's insane! but i loved reading it, too, and having those "ohhh, i get it!" moments. :D)
