I liked the ending too. The whole movie, really. I found Wrath's demise to be a redeeming factor in all the things he did as a Bad Guy, even though he did it for selfish reasons, kinda. But who can't feel for wanting to go home and see your mom?
Greed is pure ass-kick. The sooner everyone realizes this, the better.
The ending, I found, to be very Stephen King-esque. Strange worlds, one world feeding off of another, alchemy, pain, suffering, angst. The series more than the movie especially, where almost everyone really awesome dies, and one brother gets trapped in one world and the other's in ..well, the other. There Are No Perfect Happy Endings.
And I think it's good that way. Maybe a little more believable (for a cartoon, yeah!), because there are no pure perfect happy endings.
Hello! Well, I've seen all the series but not the movie yet. That's something I'm hoping to catch at some point in the future though. At any rate, it is a very kick ass series, I know why so many other people like it. I sometimes think it's missing a certain... something for me. Though I can't tell you what. It's a bit like Buffy. I LOVE Buffy, it's a great show, but I've seldom been particually inspired to write fanfic for it, bar that Blue Skys one. But still... it's a damn good series. It reminds me of something my friend once said, 'Full Metal Alchemist is a bit like Harry Potter. It doesn't do anything particually new, but what it does do it does damn well.' So yeah. It's good.
