How do you tell someone...
...that the computer code in their cash cow program is spaghetti, and a complete rewrite is in order? Especially under the assumption that you wish to keep them as a client?

You wouldn't happen to be on fire, would you?
Tonight, at about 1:30am, the Deluxe Diner (responsible for many meals of mine) caught fire. I was there. I hope that it has sufficient fire insurance to cover the loss and let them rebuild. But it is in a shaky enough financial condition that, even with that, it may not open again.
Hope for the best...

This is the one year anniversary of winterwren's death. In the final analysis, she died of lack of money - the hospital at which she was being treated for cancer essentially stopped treating her and let her die.
