First day back in office. Must lead conf call, prep for fieldwork tomorrow, process report comments, rent car for friday, get cat litter, pick up bike and birthday card for sister!, pick up scotch for Friday, get peaches/make pie for party, glaze memorial plate, ...oh, wait, I should be off doing this stuff. Bye!

September is a horrible month for us, workwise. Labor Day is at the beginning, and we haven't had it off since I think, Reagan was prez. One year I was called for jury duty and when I said I couldn't come they threatened to arrest me. After I told them that jail would be a vacation compared to my job they let me put it off until October. But a couple of years ago I was off work in September for some very painful medical procedures. Now the job doesn't seem so bad. ;-)

I need to get work/home into better balance. We've just started one relatively large, high-profile, fast-timeline project at work, and another one is looming--while at home, the garden is booming along, we're zooming this way and that to help family and friends... Both sides of the equation need to take a chill pill for a week or so. (The chances of this blessed event actually occurring are rather slim for now, I fear.)
