( Somehow they've ended up alone in the barn together again, Marco on a haybale and David perched on edge of the loft where he's been sleeping and Rachel standing there as David won't shut up and Marco carefully doesn't say a word. )

Honestly, all "promoting unity" and "giving him a challenge" aside...I think the hat possibly did that just to see (can it see?) the looks on the faces of EVERYONE IN THE HALL.
