Morning y'all - once again I'm still your guest host for the week, natural_blue_26, and today's comment_fic is brought to you by the number three.

Pull out your hyphens, colons, semi-colons, and every other grammatical cheat code you have and prepare to abuse the heck out of them because today is three sentence fic day. Prompts can be whatever your heart desires, but the ( Read more... )

Yeah, I ship D/R and R/M, but I can't believe a threesome didn't occur to me! James/Marco/David might work, too. And for some reason I'm finding myself falling more and more in love with the concept of Cassie/JakeRachel, though minus the J/R because it squicks me.

Can David/Marco/Rachel be a thing now? This so needs to be a THING :DDD

Rule 59: if fic or art exists, it is Officially A Thing.
(I just made that up, but you know, any excuse to ship these guys XD)

But there IS fic babe, for I have drafted a three part monstrous three sentence thing that abuses run-on sentences and every trick known to grammar! I will come and offer it back to you later tonight so you can tell me what you think D:

Eeee, thank you! Three for the price of one! XD Yes, those are some very long sentences, and the editor in me is itching to split them up. You could do that, if you wanted to... although I suppose that would defeat the purpose of the prompt.

I totally understand that, but there was no way in Heaven or Hell I was going to be able to start off this pairing in three NORMAL length sentences lol. I recognize that my 'cheat-codes' with sentence length are totally ridiculous though. :P

Yeah, I go to the other extreme sometimes; it comes from the halcyon days when I wrote poetry and would cut anything that wasn't needed.

FILL - Rachel POV natural_blue_26 July 12 2012, 03:35:30 UTC
Um, I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU GUYS. Haven't actually written anything in forever (let alone David!) and is this too weird, or is this a way that this OT3 might actually work/happen? Please pretend that David possibly wasn't just a three four book character, and that Rachel/Tobias is more of an emotional possibility than a confirmed canon at this point. Pointing out any glaring errors/auto-corrected words I'm missing would be hugely helpful, because I think I'd like to clean this baby up and spread her around. (What actually happened entirely up to everyone's own dirty mind, but I would love to know what your think. ;)

Additionally we're going with stereotypically yellow pencils here so the prompt can actually APPLY to the first one.

Her hand grips steadily tighter around the pencil she's supposed to be using to bubble in the answers on the scan-tron test, and she feels the wood creak just barely perceptively between her fingers; it's close to breaking, but not quite there, which is remarkably close to how she feels at the moment - ( ... )

their collective, unspoken, unexplored guilt and trifectorate of mutual dislikes about themselves they now saw even more magnified within each other

I love this sentence. It really speaks volumes that their one-night-stand/relationship is based on 'hatred' (or, well, not love). ETA: Also, I think you meant to say 'trifecta'? A trifecta is a bet on which horses will finish first, second and third, and AFAIK the trifector is the one who places the bet. I've never heard trifectorate, but that might be a regional thing.

Thank you! Exactly what I was going for there. (And I *knew* there was at least one dumb bunny thing in there that I was going to be unable to see the trees because of the forest, etc.)

FILL - Marco POV natural_blue_26 July 12 2012, 03:36:20 UTC
There was no playing 'Truth or Dare' with Rachel; as far as she was concerned the game should just be renamed 'Dare or Dare' and then throw in the towel and call it a day, but even knowing this relatively simple fact of life as he knew it he had pushed his lips shut practically literally bitten his own tongue to stop himself from preventing - well, he wasn't sure what yet but his spider senses screamed that it would be bad - things from continuing when David had, in an arrogantly confident manner Marco had heard the tone of before too often in Rachel's and his own voices (and he would secretly love to coolly master the smoothness of himself), loftily imply that Rachel didn't have the guts to accept any dare David might choose to assign her ( ... )

Bwahaha, that's so Rachel.

and then throw in the towel and call it a day
In this context, I'm pretty sure those two mean the same thing.

in the face of Rachel's pigheaded excuse for bravery and David's slimy, sure-footed request, how could he be the only one of the three of them not to not step up to the plate and seal the deal?
I adore this explanation of how Marco came to be involved!
