I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Michelle wasn't, either. But somebody gave us a chance. Just like these folks up here are looking for a chance.

What is the creepiness that exudes from Romney when he gets that raised eyebrows ingenuous look? It makes me want to put on some really thick gloves and then slap it off his face.

I don't get how the Rabid Right can so purposefully misunderstand the whole "silver spoon" thing. Romney (and most rich people) were born into their affluence! They may have increased it by their own efforts, but they were privileged to have it on the day they were born -- the American dream isn't to be born rich, it's to become rich (however you define "rich") by your own efforts!

Getting a student loan or taking advantage of government grants to get the education that will let you become affluent in today's world isn't a sin, it's not money-grubbing, and it sure as hell isn't taking one penny out of the tax-sheltered pockets of the 1%.

The whole Rabid Right stance of "I've got mine, and yours, so you can't have it" is really making me angrier and angrier.

This student loan thing really makes me angry. Most advanced degrees are impossible without student loans. You can't go to Medical or Law School, even in-state, without loans and the politicians know that, but they pretend it's some kind of scam. At my daughter's Law School, they only give about one or two scholarships a year, and then only for either the most gifted (A+++) students, or the most destitute. Everyone else has to take out loans, period. AND they are told NOT to work the first year of Law School so they can concentrate and study.

I'm so tired of this pretend-ignorance of ordinary life. But of course they are protecting the tax-exempt status of political churches and groups that raise money for right-wing candidates under the guise of being objective "think tanks." OMG It's despicable.

Apparently, Mittens was born with his foot in his mouth. Oh well. I hope he keeps it up for the duration of the campaign, so that he can alienate everyone else now that he's alienated women, the 99%, the LGBT communities, students, parents of students and people who actually work for a living, including women who have to leave their children every day because they don't have the luxury of a choice. Oh, and did I mention workers displaced by his corporate raiders?

I want to see this out of touch rich boy kicked to the curb in November.

I updated my post with quotes from Stephen Colbert - so funny! - and Steve Doocy's retraction, plus a funny quote from Washington Post.

People might think that all this is a waste of time, but this goes to the heart of the Right-Wing Propaganda Machine and how they spin things to give low-information voters the wrong idea. I keep these lists of quotes because embarrassing things get scrubbed from the internet after a few weeks and you never see them again.
