Those articles were really amusing *lol*

And I actually get to keep my sign, yay! I was born April 18, so it's still Aries for me, though just barely.

However, there's something wrong with the dates in this new zodiac calender, since the last date of one sign coincides with the first of another sign, which is kind of misleading. So technically I might be Pisces too. A real shame, since I really love my sign...

Yes, someone needs to fix those dates because they shouldn't overlap like that!

I'm barely still a Cancer, but my husband has become a Gemini. And all my children are now Fire signs instead of Earth signs. So this is pretty strange.

when the sun had on your day of birth a Right ascension (R.A. or alpha) of more then 6h0m0s and less then 8h0m0s you still have the sign of Cancer
look up the RA for the sun of your husband and children and you find the signs.
0h0m0s -2h0m0s = Aries
2h - 4h = Taurus
4h - 6h = Gemini
6h - 8h = Cancer
8h -10h = Leo
10 -12h = Virgo
12 -14h = Libra
14 -16h = Scorpius
16 -18h = Sagitarius
18 -20h = Capricorn
20 -22h = Aquarius
22 -24h = Pisces

having such or so astrological sign tells you no more then that: the hour angle the sun had when you were born
the rest is pure balony, make belief, suggestion and self fullfilling prophesy.

I just see it as popular culture. :) I read horoscopes just for fun, and I don't really take it seriously either.

Egad, I'm no longer a Pisces, however, neither is Alan Rickman so I guess that's okay after all.

I'm still a Cancer because now it starts on July 20th and my birthday is the 21st. But that chart really shakes up the signs of Scorpio and especially Capricorn which has been split three or four ways.

Yeah, Scorpio is just 6 days. Bad news for my Scorpio friends who are all ridiculously proud of their sign.

I've become one! But I'll always remain a Virgo, it just fits me too well.

Actually, it depends upon which zodiac (tropical vs sidereal) you used, whether or not your sign changed link. According to that article, if you use the North American zodiac (tropical) you don't change.

But, still interesting. I'm a Leo either way though. (just barely, mind you).

The funny thing is though, people that claim not to care, all of a sudden freaking out because their sign changed. Really people? You don't care?

that's probably beacuse you cannot open a magazine or morning paper or you encounter the crap called "Your Horoscope of Today"
and when you don't care at all there is allways a collegue you asks you after reading his or hers "What is your Sign?"
I answer then: "the King Vulture."
there are moment I wish my birthday was 12 weeks later, for then I could answer: "Fucking Pigs." or 16 weeks later, that then would be: "Death", leaves them really confused, not knowing I made up my own zodiac.

My goodness ~ I only wrote about this because of Ophiucus and all my comments about changing signs were meant to be light-hearted. None of this is life-threatening, it seems to me.

and I sort took the bit between the teeth and ran off showing my mild annoyance with astrology, sorry
y're right; it isn't life-threatening.
