Taking a break from Latin studies for a moment. WTF, eh? What are they doing to the movies? I would be annoyed as a writer that they feel they have to tweak the action when I would think it was exciting as it was. I wonder if Rowling feels the same.

I don't know. I just don't know what she is thinking or what WB is doing. *shakes head*

Lot of fusss at Leaky and Mugglenet about a naked Dan....I actually hate these kind of revelations, they completely distract from the contence of the story. JUst like the fuss about Dan kissing Lueng in HP5 or Dan kissing Wright in HP 6. I really don't believe that they are going to dive deep in Ron's subconsience fears in all gory details, but I hope the Horcrux-Harry/Horcrux-Hermione scene will be a bit intenser then the lame kisses we have seen so far ( ... )

I never thought of it that way, Kamion, but I think it's true that James and Lily should have been older when they had Harry. One reason many people were disappointed in DH is that we never heard anything about what the Potters wanted to be when they grew up. That's because they never actually grew up or studied anywhere but Hogwarts. :( They never had jobs and just lived off the Potter inheritance. That's disappointing.

It's the movie people who didn't know how old the Potters (and Snape) were, Jo had the Marauders/Snape plotline in her head from the beginning.

It's creeping me out how much Geraldine looks like Bonnie Wright in that photo.

No word about filming The Prince's Tale with a younger actress to play Lily.

Like, oh I dunno, the one who was cut from Snape's Worst Memory in OotP??

If Alec Hopkins isn't young Severus there (at the appropriate age -- I'll be interested to see who's cast as the very youngest Lily and Sev, if anyone), HEADS WILL ROLL. But then they did bother to include him in HBP, if only in like a single frame, so I suppose they'll stick with him.

MOAR YOUNG SEVERUS PLZKTHX

That was my first thought, too -- just use Bonnie Wright. Hmmm....

Elethian: I hear you about Young Severus. I love Alec Hopkins and I hope they use him again, and if they don't I'll be so disappointed. :(

And oh ys - I find that picture very creepy.

Not only does she look like Bonnie, but that dress looks like a maternity dress to me! *eyeroll*

If they do not film the Princes Tale I will not see the movie. There is far too much important backstory that is crucial to the plot in that memory. I am going to be upset if they cut it.

Absolutely - if there is no Prince's Tale, or if it is cut down to a few scenes, I will write about it every day and keep the uproar going. There's just no way they can do without upsetting a large part of fandom.

consider me on that band wagon. Maybe we should start collecting addresses and emails now or get a list serve going in order to prepare (for war.) >:)

I've lost all faith in the movies trying to emulate the books. They're only trying to sell it (in the main) to the teen/tween crowd, hence all the emphasis on lame teenaged shenanigans rather than plot advancement and any regard for the over-arching seven book storyline. I mean, if there was so little Snape in a movie that had his name in the bloody title, then I don't think they'll have much of him in the seventh (and eighth) movie. They've cut out any hints of his backstory, so the whole Snape/Lily thing will come completely out of left-field for those unaware of the books. Like each movie cuts so much out that while there's a big spectacle at the end, there is no internal logical sense. *sigh* I enjoy the movies more as Hollywood spectacles and homages to the books than as faithful recreations, to be honest. I realise they have to make concessions because a screen is a completey different medium to a book, but nekkid!Dan seems fairly gratuitous. And all the extra stuff they add with the trio and the other kids is so unnecessary, ( ... )
