Batman TAS

Because I rather like the Justice League Cartoon, I thought I'd give the Batman Animated Series a try too. So I now have copies of most of the episodes of Batman The Animated series, plus the first season of the Gotham Knights series. Almost 100 cartoon episodes, yet with no real time for a cartoon marathon of watching all episodes in order in my ( Read more... )

Seems the more interesting episodes are mostly in the second half of the series. At the moment I only have the first thirteen of that one, I haven't found the second half yet. And I don't yet have the Superman Animated Series either, and I think Knight Time was an episode from that one.

If not someone happens to conviniently torrent whole cartoon seasons, I find it a rather hard and slow process to find old cartoon eps somewhere. Well, I should be busy with the Batman Animated Series for a while yet. :)

I should also rec "Night of the Ninja" and "Day of the Samurai," if only because they have NINJAS. And also flashbacks to young!Bruce doing his martial arts training in Japan.

Thanks for more episode recs, and I believe the Ventriloquist episode could be good, I rather like the Ventriloquist with his evil dummy Scarface in the comics, he's scary in a disturbing kind of way.

As mentioned above, "Mad as a Hatter" is one of my favs, as I'm a long-time collector of Alice in Wonderland ephemera and books. It first debuted on Dec 8, my birthday, which was something of a little over-the-moon fangirl prezzie for me that day. ;) Roddy McDowell did the Hatter's voice, not Malcolm. More trivia: he also played a character on the original Batman series, he was a second-string Evil Bad Guy, The Bookworm.

But my absolute favorite episode is The Gray Ghost episode, which had Adam West (squee!) doing the voice of the has-been actor who played The Gray Ghost, Bruce Wayne's favorite TV show when he was a kid. We see that Bruce got his inpiration for Batman from that show (YES!! BRUCE WAS A FAN!!!) This episode actually makes me cry, and it has the best ending ever.

God, the entire series was a-freakin'-mazing. You can get it bootleg on eBay, but I would much rather buy the DVDs from Warner Bros, if they'd get off their clueless butts and put them out in series form for us to buy instead of a couple of eps here &
